Fracas at Fontenoy!

M. le Marquis is well-pleased to have received a wonderful book celebrating his sovereign majesty's greatest victory of the age- Fontenoy in 1745.

You can read a little more about it here.

It should make for a very pleasant read by the fireplace, and would easily complement the partaking of a glass of burgundy or two, accompanied by a platter of pâté and a suitable selection of fine cheeses.

I'm working on a order of battle for a French army that M. le Marquis can command, using the
Koenig Krieg rules. I'll put it up this evening.

A thought comes to me . . . have you contacted the Australian group that is reprinting KK?

They might be able to help with WAS (as opposed to SYW) force lists/ratings.

Yes indeed, Jeff.

There have been a number of people with an interest in the War of the Austrian Succession in general, and the Dutch army in particular. Many of them a lot more knowledgeable on the subject than I ever hope of being!

We've seen some sample lists posted, but nothing final yet for the Dutch.

The new rules and lists should be out early next year. I'm looking forward to them!

12-figure units may not have the breathtaking visual appeal as those "old-school" big battalion games, but in enough numbers they can be equally impressive. And painting a battalion-even a brigade- is a lot less daunting a prospect.
